Still got the 1st FEAR, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the sequel as well, demo out monday i think it is, so can't wait to try that.

The first FEAR game was awesome. Really intense and atmospheric. The expansions were aweful however and I really, really hope (touch wood) that FEAR 2 does not do a Doom 3.

F.E.A.R was a amazing game only problem we it after a hour playing you expected n knew when things was about to happen, so took the scare away from it.

But this one, i think is gunna make you go through a lot of underwear. :D

Well as with most sys requirements, if you want a decent framerate on medium-high settings you need to add ~50% to the "recommended" spec to get the realistic "minimum" spec (maybe a bit extra where the gfx card is concerned). So we're talking ~3ghz C2D, 8800 and 2.25GB RAM really.

Don't forget that the 8600GTS came out at least a year after FEAR, it's comprable in power to the 7900GT so IMO the 512meg version probably does run the original OK.

True.

No point really in looking at recommended as it will never show exactly how it runs. They should start putting "Optimum" on the requirements list. Actually im pretty sure some games do have that on the back.

The trouble is that they don't really have much to gain from being realistic. If you issued "Optimum" requirements, potentially this might be offputting to people with lesser systems.

What normally happens is, a game is released, people with faster systems than the Recommended have a good moan about poor performance, but at the end of the day, the publisher doesn't care because they've already made the sale. OK so the bad press on forums might dissuade a few others from buying, but I think this would have less of an effect than any kind of official statement.

I really liked the original. Got the Extraction Point expansion a while back but I keep getting horrendously low framerates after playing for a few minutes. Can only be resolved by restarting the game, which gets annoying.

Looks good, I enjoyed the other FEAR games. I just hope PO isn't as "consoley" as it looks :p

It releases on my Birthday (Friday 13th, I know...) which is a plus :D

Personnally I really enjoyed Extraction Point, the last one was terrible tho. On topic I am looking forward to this as my wife enjoys it to, so I get away with sitting on it all night.

Hopefully it will be awesome (like the original) and not some piece of console rubbish designed for twelve year olds.

Looks like they've added more environments to play in rather then just walking through endless offices and corridors. I've got the first one and all the expansions so will probably buy this when it comes out.
