F.E.A.R 2 Worth it?

Hi i am thinking of getting fear 2 but i am unsure.
I really liked the first one and i have read a review for the seconed one but i am still unsure.
Is it worth it and is it any good?

I played FEAR, Extraction Point and Persus Mandate.
I've just started FEAR 2. Its very similar in style and feel so far!
 
The games biggest problem was pretty much more of the same as the first one. I honestly absolutely loved the single player, but it was a bit short and imo, the firefights didnt seem as good as the first. MP isnt really worth bothering with. If you can get it fairly cheap id say go for it if you liked the 1st one.
 
FEAR 2 is amazing, far better than the first one, it had cold shivers running up and down my spine the whole way, and it seems a really big game aswell. seemed to take forever to complete!! looks really good visually aswell :D worth buying!
 
Ultimately the game was dumbed down for consoles & most PC gamers would agree.

The HUD is big and stupid, A.I is worse & guns have a lot less impact. Just feels too easy and predictable. Not worth anything more than £10
 
If you can get past the HUD near the beginning, it's a good single player campaign. Don't expect much from multiplayer though, not many people there..
 
I liked it, but then I have a thing for no nonsense FPS games. I have played all 4 and I would say they are all quite good. FEAR2 looks good but I would probably say the first one stands out more for me.
 
Fear 2 is so short lived though. It was also very buggy when it came out. Seems better now itts been patched, but I have not touched it since a few days after I bought it. Also I have more scary things in my sandwiches.

Prefer the first one. As someone said above, the gunfights feel better in the first one to me. More action, loads of decals, bits coming of walls etc. Just felt better than the second.
 
Perhaps because I played the original first, before F.E.A.R. 2, I was really disappointed with the sequel. It was just so mediocre/average it was quite sad. It seemed to repeat scares even more than the original, utter rubbish quick time events and just way too short. Not that the original was very long, but I completed F.E.A.R. 2 in a morning. Just felt like a very, very average console FPS.
 
Chiefly more or less just a graphics overhaul, worth buying if you can get it cheap. Good but nothing special at all, no even close to the first imho. I'd give it a generous 7 / 10
 
go for it, i was hooked.

It does have a bit of a consoley feel to it, and the gunfights arnt as good as the first one, but still a good game.
 
Didnt rate the demo of FEAR2 very highly myself - yes, its too consolised.

Big HUD, similar looking "future" type weapons, weak sniper rifle, and just generally not much different from FEAR.

Loved FEAR's 10mm HV penetrator, and that gun that turned people to skeletons :p

Awesome fun! Looks so dated these days though....
