F.E.A.R. Combat crash.

I just downloaded and installed the free multiplayer F.E.A.R Combat game. Vesion 1.7.

It installs fine but once I try to open the program I get a windows error crash before the game even gets a chance to start up.

I run a Nvidia 6800GT AGP card. I don't have the very latest drivers because I was getting some fps drop in cs with them. I use forceware 84.43.

I'm also running Windows XP Pro with the latest windows updates and SP2.

For reference sake, AMD64 3200+ Winchester core and 1024MB GeiL value ram 3200.

Anyone?
 
Not sure what the problem is, there is a couple of things you should now though for once its running... With a 6800 GT you can play with practically maxed settings but you need 2Gb of ram for this. So unless you wanna lower your settings you're ganna have choppy gameplay :(

I'm quite happy to lower my settings, I prefer performance/gameplay > graphics anyway. Not bothered about things looking pretty :D

Yup, think its a bug with kaspersky antivirus. Thanks for the responses guys.
 
hi whats the bug

i tried to FEAR combat demo back when it came out and i had the same problem
i am also using kaspersky
i thought that could be a problem and i disabled it but it still didn't work
