Hey guys

Just started playing this game yesterday and wow!

It's the only game that has really scared me, as I turn the sound off sometimes as its too scary! lol.

Who else likes this game?
Any tips and tricks? As i keep running out of ammo! :(

It's OK, but it gets boring really fast. I've still yet to complete it. One thing that's great fun is pinning people to walls with that 10mm penetrator nail-gun. :D

Yep, level design is pants with a capital y-front. Some combat set pieces are great, but that doesn't make up for the rest of the game. Audio logs are a poor man's System Shock 2. /rant.

I did have to force myself to finish FEAR as id lost interest a while before the end and wasnt too bothered about the story. Having said that i found the combat to be fanbloodytastic! Seriously satisying with AI that for the most part is actually really fun to play against. Its so satisfying to hit an enemy soldier in the head with a well timed shotgun blast as he slo-mo leaps over a railing :D .

It really is a shame that they used so many repetitive environments, as good as the game is it could certainly have been improved with a wider range of maps and a little more imagination put into their design.

I enjoyed playing this a while back. It was reasonably scary, the cut scenes bits are cool.

As to ammo problems, I had no real problems with ammo. If a weapon it looking low, switch to something else. Seemed to work for me, though perhaps I don't waste as much as some people ;)

i played the demo and it seriously scared me like a jumpy part in a horror movie, cool game but yea as you say it gets repetative pretty fast.

Seems a good game, never managed to finish it, always lose my saves when windows throws a hissy fit, might have to reinstall it and finish it off.

I keep meaning to finish it as well. Played a few hours into it. Actually did the start over several times as I kept losing my saves or starting it on another computer.

Did seem to get a little repetitive after a while though. Slow motion was cool and there were some set pieces I loved playing over and over to get just the right outcome I wanted. In some office/server type place where you're in a small glassed off area and soldiers burst in from two doors I played that several times placing explosives at both doors and switching to slo-mo as they burst in then blowing them all up. Looked sweet.

Really was just a graphics game though. Not much of a replay value at all.

Started off and I was like 'so what', but I really got into it and the AI really hooked me.

To conserve ammo (a) use bullet time well and often and (b) go for the head shot ;)
