I was having a browse around another folding forum at 2CPU and came across this interesting sticky that I thought it worth passing on.
2CPU -advmethods sticky
According to this thread, it may not be a good idea to use the -advmethods option with any CPU that doesn't support SSE2 (In other words PII's, PIII's (including older Celerons) and Athlon XP's). It doesn't actually damage the science, it just gives WU's to processors that will take longer to crunch these WU's as they don't support SSE2 instructions.
I'm going to look at some of my machines to change these settings to see what impact if any it has. I'll keep you informed.
