Hah - I just thought - those PS3'ers are probably never going to catch us now! :D Bwuahaha. Unless the RSX gets unlocked for folding purposes...

Anyway, a beeping graphics card might indicate it's not getting enough power. However that would be a definite bios-like beep, and looking at your spec is unlikely anyway.

As for the client-core failure, it could be a duff work unit. If it keep downloading the same one and still falls over I'd be tempted to uninstall everything and try again. Restarting your PC won't hurt either in the meantime.
 
Yeah only me as the only user with admin rights and I have a password (have to to run cpu smp client). Restarted and deleted everything got new work unit and still same log txt that says has to close.

strange - same issues here -completed first core and then next and every subsquent core it's moaning

"Fahcore_11.exe - Unable to locate component

This applicatin has failed to start becuase cudart.dll was not found"

IRT Bikerz, just been on the offical forums, it's a known issue and is being worked on. So check back regularly for future client updates. :)

still same issues - every driver i can find with modded INF or not.

Driver cleaned out, F@H cpu removed cleaned etc and fresh install each time.

Had about 8 goes at it now and still the same missing cudart.dll file after i start up the folding process.:mad::mad::mad:

Looks like i will just have to stand by and watch everyone rampage passed me now:(:(:(

As far as I know, the squeal is just resonance, which is why it goes away at different frequencies. If it's bothering you see if you can return the card and get a different one. I see where you are coming from, I'd be a bit "hmm" if mine was making any sort of noise.

is exactly what i'm getting on payday, cheap and the most effective cooling. it bothers me seeing my GTS sitting at 67C for long periods.

Oooh, shall have to check my logs. Wildly off-topic in an nVidia thread but is anyone looking at the AMD 4850 card for folding purposes? Rubbish ppd with the current core but with 800 processors it has the potential to be a monster. Cheap too.

I'm going to hang fire personally and let someone else jump in and see what their experience is like. I'd like to see if the AMD client uses a lot more CPU time than the nVidia client after the core gets tweaked (currently the AMD cards need a lot more CPU time than the nVidia).
 
Got a couple of the 479pt WUs. As far as I can see, pretty much exactly the same PPD as the small ones, with the exception that I waste less time changing WUs!
 
hmm, but my PPd dropped from 6K to between 4900 and 5100

[edit] yay for the edit button eh?!
turns out had cpu level still turned down so could play TF2 and still fold.
