F@H - "cannot open for writing"

I've got some machines folding but mysteriously after folding a few WUs, when I've logged back on them, I'm getting a "cannot open for writing" when each frame is completed...I'm not going to be able to have access to them for a while - when they reach 100% of their WU, will it be uploaded properely even thought it cannot be written to hdd, or will it reach 100% and then restart?

thanks for any help with this, some serious points are at stake for Team 10! :p
 
Where is this message being shown?

What client are you running?

Are you running it as a service?


I've tried searching the main forums but have just come up with nothing relevant yet but more information could be helpful. :)
 
I'm at a total loss to be honest - never heard of this one :o

What is your FAHlog.txt looking like? Does it show the message too? Is anything at all getting written to the log or is that perhaps what the message means (possibly it's being locked by another program)?

Would you be able to post your FAHlog.txt here? A screenshot of the console window would be good if possible (and if the message isn't shown in the log)

I'll start a thread on the main forums and see if anyone knows of the problem already - could be something very simple :p


edit: What Windows OS is this on by the way?

- I was running out of time before the lab had to be locked, so I couldn't check, but the strange thing is I can copy the F@H folder to make a backup, which I'll explain reason for in a sec...

I believe it's the OS that's stopping me writing to the C:\, the strange thing is - it allowed me to before, so was happily folding on each workstation, but they were powered off by somone unexpectedly (they held in the power button), i.e. so in order to not discard that unit, I go to take off read-only (otherwise will download a new one) and realise I can't so I make a copy to do it in the future as all of the stations were over 60% on their WU.
