Anyone else seen a major drop in their GPU output in the last few days? I had been seeing between 4000 and 4800 ppd. In the last 3-4 days it's dropped down to something between 2650 and 3300 :( I'm running Windows XP SP3, with an ATI 4870.

Has anything changed from Stanford, or should I be looking for another culprit?

The work units have changed. The 480 point WUs are gone and now we have 511 point units (low ppd) and 353 point WUs which are varied but often as good or better than the 480 pointers. Everyone's ppd's are down. Easiest way to see is to look at the team summary graphs for various teams on the EOC stats.

You'd hope that by now they would have worked out a true assessment of parity between different WUs.

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating, my ppd was around 5000 a short while ago, it's more like 3-4000 now!!

Grrr.....

I can remember back in november. My overclocked 8800GS would get 4800PPD from them 480point work units. My video cards are taking a big hit... but i will keep going until it gets worse. Then it might be time to move them on and get something better.

The 480 point WUs were just a test checking the accuracy of the results produced by GPUs against already calculated data from other clients.

Now we're doing the new science :D
