they are out of deadlineless work due to all the shameless people who are selecting deadlineless work when they don't really need it - in your case of course you do need it due to a lack of connection

if you set it to normal work it should connect but of course you will only get 1 WU and probably a small one at that :(

the problem is that not many of the current projects owe themselves well to being run deadlineless :o

poop, oh well.

If i were you i would set up two clients, one for deadlineless and one for normal so when one hasn't got any work the other one might have some.

You could also set up lots (up to 8) normal clients with normal work, so it would have plenty to do until it next got online.

The reason i think deadlinless wus have become more popular is recently they have been giving better points than normal work, and are more consistant too. I've also found the deadlines for normal work are too soon in some cases and some machines are struggling to finish on time so i had to set deadlineless.

so, just so i'm sure, if I put in say 4 clients, it will crunch 4 wus at the same time but take 4 times as long - hopefully takeing up the time between connections.

yup it'll use just as much RAM as running the 4 side by side - the ones set to IDLE just won't be progressing whilst the ones set to LOW have work to do

it is a good solution though as for instance if you set half to LOW and the other half to IDLE you should have a few WUs ready to be uploaded when you next get to check the machine

Thanks guys, will try later.
