F@H - What am I up against?

I'm new to this, and wondered what kind of machines others are using for their folding goodness. Are you using lots of average machines, or have you built uber computers?

I'll start off:

Desktop:

Opteron 166 @ FX-57
1GB 233mhz

Laptop:

P4M 1.7ghz
756mb godknowswhatspeed

Also, how will I know if I'm kicking out faulty WUs? My OC is stable as far as prime etc is concerned, but want to be sure.

See this is going to cost me money. Ive just caught myself looking at P3 SFF systems on ebay, and trying to work out how many I could fit under the bed !
