Hi guys, Is it possible to change my folding name (and keep my stats?)

Also whats the min spec a folding machine could be to be worthwhile?

Also why are my deadlines for my wu's like 10 months away?

There's not. It's just how it is.

A P3 with 128 MiB RAM is the absolute minimum spec in my mind. I've run on some PII machines but it's really not worth the electricity IMHO.

Because sometimes very slow machines can get assigned those WUs. It's pretty normal to return WUs with 95-99% of the deadline remaining.

*looks sheepish*

I managed to miss a deadline with my AMD Athlon 64 3200+

It went down for too long...

And I've set a minimum of 1Ghz for my folding machines Any thing less and it increases the electricty bill for very little output.

I've folded on a Pentium 3 1Ghz but i didn't like it much. You don't get good 'folding value' for the electricity used and heat generated.

Now i won't fold on anything less than a 2.4Ghz Celeron but im not a typical folder. I have more machines available than im prepared to fold with. This is again down to electricity and heat.

To answer your first question you cannot change your name and keep your stats. Once the name is changed your stats start again from zero with that name.

ive got a p3 450 @ 512 folding and it takes forever to complete a 200 point unit. I dont think anything less than 1GHz is really worth it but it all helps I suppose.

right now the 450 has a p2107 unit that is 200 points I think...started at 11am 8th June and its at 71%. So it takes over 2 weeks to complete one unit.

ive also got a p3 733 dell that is on step 110 out of 400 of a 241 point unit and that only started two days ago so i guess that will be ready in 6 days or so.
