F-secure AV

i got this AV from my bank for free. but iv noticed that i have about 14 processes in task manager, which seems overboard tbh.

is f-secure worth it, or should i go for a free AV from elsewhere, iv used AVG, but id like to try a different one, one with a lot less usage

Barclays? I got that too, tried it for a few weeks but it seemed overly obtrusive and sluggish so I binned it. I'm now using avast which is much better in that regard.

use it here at work. checking task manager it does use up a load of processes !!

not the best tbh, a full system scan for example can take agessssssss....

AVAST is the way to go mate.
I've used it all year and am well happy with it.

yeah, it is sluggish and i did notice the full scan took a while. but is that because its vastly superior (sp?)

im not going to start another 'which AV' thread, thats for the search is for.

i just didnt want to bin a prefectly good AV for no reason, but if im not the only one to dislike ...... time for a change

I've used it for 3 years now and I'm extremely happy with it. Got it from my Uni under their corporate license for free (Client Security) and it does an outstanding job.

smids.....is that f-secure or avast?

either way, uninstalled f-secure now and put avast on..less than half the number of processes. i like the layout of it all so far, and in time i shall see if its any better

If that is f-secure i did the same. i think its brilliant. never had a problem with it

If you want free with no cut out features then try comodo http://www.comodogroup.com/

I bought 2 copys of this a few months ago from OC for me and my bro but when i saw all those process' and then noticed all the resources it was hogging and slowing down my pc. I uninstalled it and same with my bro.

We tried to refund em but they said something about they had to be sealed :S

Even though they sold them to us already unsealed, didn't even have a seal in the first place. :S

Avoid.
