F1 2011 Memory Usage WTF?

Hi Im using a GTX 560ti SOC 950/1900/2290 and I have no trouble playing any games at 1680x1050 on maxium settings. But now I just got F1 2011.

Look:

I just dont get this crysis 2 has a lot better graphics than F1 2011 but yet F1 uses all most my maxium memory. Im seeing some random FPS drops and its very annoying, is this the way the game will always be or can they fix this?
 
Memory usage and graphical quality don't neccesarily go hand in hand. Also, adding more AA will tend to eat up more memory.

The exact memory requirements depend on how the game shuffles textures around between system memory and GPU memory. With a driving game I imagine you want all textures loaded into VRAM at all times - a small hitch when driving around a circuit would be disastrous. On the other end of the scale you have open-world games, which are so big they need to continuously shift textures as you move around the world. So, you can often get away with lower memory usage at the expense of occasional paging as you move from one place to another.
 
The games pretty broke on all fronts to be fair, wouldn't be surprised if a patch and/or driver update is released sooner rather than later.

It could be worse you could have an AMD CF setup. With CF = 20fps without CF = 56fps.

If you want I'll see what kind of memory usage I'm getting from my 2gb 6950 on this?
 
It's running great here on a 5870, much better actually then 2010 version and loving the split screen option, finally can race with a friend and that runs perfectly too. All settings maxed here at 1920 x 1200. 2010 had the odd frame jerk this version has been very solid so far for me and like the updates they added.
 
on my 570 it never goes above 700mb, thats everything completely maxed! must be driver issues? try reverting back.
