is it just my memory that's faulty. But I swear all the good drivers never(but not the greats) signed these long contracts and always waited to see how there season was and who had the best car, with loads of signings and swapping happening in the last 3rd of the season.

Possibility of a seat at Red Bull. Lots of rumours going around about Webber being out at Red Bull - lining up Kubica as his replacement.

Certainly is a shame about Hulkenberg. He genuinely got better as the year went on and many people have him tagged as someone to watch - just looking at his previous championships shows that.

I wish they would replace Massa with Kubica. I can also see Webber leaving F1 - would be great to have Kubica there. RBR would really be strong with Vettel and Kubica.

Webber deserves his seat at RBR, but I think he has lost it.(would be very sad to see him go, but everywhere available would be a step down in performance/and or chances of success )

Would be an excellent move for Kubica (or Rosberg if he is outed at Mercedes) but I would have trouble making a decision wheter to be No 1 at a manufacturer team like Renault (who should improve next season) or definite No 2 at Red Bull - very tough choice imo

Webber certainly deserves his seat, but after this season I really can't see him wanting to stay. Plus, with Vettel winning the championship he may not have much say over his seat anymore. Like you said FrankJH, who would want to be a definite number 2 at RBR?

As i said in the other thread, kubica will not move. even if he would wnat to be a no:2 which i doubt it. Renault will not let him go. They have no decent 2nd driver and not really much left to chose from.

I cant see them (Renault team) wanting too - but due to the Renault link, it could be "engineered" , although as you say it would be bad for Kubica so not sure he would be too happy about it

Is the Renault engine department completely seperate from the team (like Ilmor to Mercedes was) or are they one in the same (just thinking about possibility of strings being pulled behind the scenes)........
