F1 2012

I boycotted 2011 owing to their lack of customer service on F1 2010 and will do the same with 2012.

Unfortunately, many here hopped onboard the 2011 "Codemasters Bull **** train" and thought they were reformed.

A rehash every year is a joke. A full release every 2 years with an expansion pack every other year would be a better option.

Haven't played much of 2011 not even completed one full season but i will still probably get this.

However i can't see it being much different and they already confirmed last year that no new game engine until 2013.

EA release a new Fifa every year, the difference is the fifas are almost always very polished products by launch and any problems are usually fixed very quickly, plus they are supported and get updates upto the release of the next one.

The F1 games are often very buggy on release and don't get fixed for months, and then after one or two fixes, with the game still needing support, they drop it for the next one.

A new game every year can be done very successfully if you release a polished product, fix any bugs quickly and don't drop it after only a few months...

Sadly codemasters have yet to realise that retaining a customer base by releasing good quality products is a much better way of making money than making half-arsed games on the cheap..

Anyone that "boycotted" 2011 seriously missed out, had a huge amount of fun racing (and beating :p) with OcUkers.

Will see how the mood takes me with this one - would need a lot more features to tempt me back.

meh gave up on codemasters f1 games same old only few improvements should have kept 2011 and 2012 as expansion packs instead of full game. will wait for grid 2 thats about it

I'll wait to see if there's any suspension bugs like that 11/11 rubbish where people can cheat to get a second or two faster laptimes. That's why I quit F1 2011. And hopefully they'll tighten up on cutting areas off track.

Never again Codemasters!

F1 2010 was broken & needed a lot of fixes. Codemasters ignored this to work on F1 2011 (which was broken in other ways & actually had worse gfx on PC by far than 2010 go figure ).

Now instead of just building DLC for F1 2011 which would allow everyone to buy into it for a reasonable price as the tracks are similar as are the cars/drivers etc etc Codemasters are making a new title to sell the same game again to the unsuspecting :(

Dirt Showdown is the same its the same old Codemasters tactic still using the very old EGO engine as well

Is there not a Codies community rep on these forums, I cannot remember who he is.

The "expansion pack" is something I miss from days gone by, would have made games like this much more appealing.

Oddly was doing a full championship for F1 2011 and got to singapore, quit the game at the first pratice and now each and everytime I fire the game up, CTD.

Can't get the game to launch anymore... I've deleted the entire game and re-installed, can't get it to run, apparently quite a few others have mentioned game CTD once they get to Singapore as well..!!

Nice one coodies.. F1 2010 was a buggy mess, F1 2011 was damn awful on the PS3, and even worse on the PS Vita and a bit of a buggy mess on the PC...

Not buying F1 2012, sick of getting my hopes up for the game to be a bit of a buggy mess... F1 2011 is actually a really good game (well on the PC anyhow, steer well clear of the PS3 version) but really upset I can't seem to launch the game anymore when I've gotten over half way into a championship..

Annoying to say the least..

I've not played a decent F1 game since F1 '95/F1'97 on Playstation apart from the Geoff Crammond GP series, all of the officially licensed ones end up being half arsed attempts and arcade trash to make money off the license.

Classic. :D

I've enjoyed both 2010 and 2011, but think I'll be giving this a miss.

I get my racing fix from Project CARS now, I can't see myself stopping playing that anytime soon.
