F1 2013 Testing: Week 3 Barcelona

Drying up faster now, Hulk just went out on dry tyres and went 6 seconds faster than anyone else, usually this point that quite a few people go out and it will dry up pretty quickly.

Seems to be once again Merc leading the lap count, doesn't neccessarily mean the car is reliable, but they do seem to be getting a hell of a lot of running in after those first two dodgy days. Hamilton was saying there is a bunch of new stuff either today or tomorrow for the car, hopefully we'll see some pics of bits that have changed.

Alonso is on mediums, Chilton on unmarked tyres, Ricciardo on softs. Webber has just gone out on mediums.

Alonso says Ferrari won't have Melbourne spec package ready for this weekend, first time they will run it will be Friday free practice.

Rest of the top teams will be running updated spec over the next 2 days.

Day of useful info over now, raining again, ALonso's race run turns into a slow paced reliability test more than anything else. Bit boring that so few really tried to find max speed when it was at its driest, though not surprising, if upgrades are due for most teams for tomorrow, reliability of underlying car is going to tell them more than data about speed today. Should see more speed testing when they are all trying to get their Melbourne packages up to pace so the next two days will hopefully be interesting... and better weather.

Lewis and Alonso look and seem(I think they are)very happy about their cars and so full of confidence.

Wonder if Merc and Ferrari have got an edge on the other teams?

Although I know testing testing means little in terms of comparing pace it is a
nice to see lotus at the front at barca
