F1 2013 - Your Prediction

Hamilton - best driver - hmmm.
Fastest driver in F1 - probably.
Best driver in F1 - Alonso and Vettel may have something to say about that.

In any case gents, I believe we are 1 week away from the season opener.
Is it not time for Mr Duke to start the Aussie F1 thread ;)
 
I want Lewis to do it, but I can't see past Vettel for the WDC and Ferrari for the constructors.

Agreed, i don't think Hamilton can be considered the very best all round F1 driver but i get the feeling if you put all the drivers in exactly the same car, he would be fastest.
 
My prediction:

Driver's:

Kimi
Button
Alonso

With all three close enough to win at the final race but Kimi doing just enough to cling on for the title.

Constructor's

RBR
McLaren
Ferrari

Webber will have a return to form this season while Vettel's run of luck will falter. Fat John will not keep his Lotus seat after another reckless season marked by moments of brilliance lost in a miasma of stupidity costs Lotus too many places in the constructor stakes.

I also predict Hamilton will win two races this season.

Pretty much. Grosjean and Massa are pretty much a waste of a seat. Both will have totals embarrassingly below their teammates. Perez, I expect to do better. But whereas this year will see Vettel and Webber get similar points totals Kimi will slaughter Grosjean, Alonso will humiliate Massa again and Button will leave Perez in his dust.

This year will be close enough at the top that the differences made by these sorely second string drivers will let RBR squeak through for another title despite Vettel's bad year.

See, don't you like your predictions stated with certainty :)

Do you read Evo?

It would be interesting for the WCC to be a team whos drivers don't do well in the WDC. But with Massa and Grosjeans past performances there is some validity in your predictions.

That's quite a bold prediction, away from the norm.
It takes a brave man to bet against Vettel.

Most of us are going with the safe prediction of Vettel and Alonso to fill the top 2 places.

After the season is done, I'm going to look back at this post with great interest, as it is such outlandish, but not impossible prediction.
