After watching the Ted Notebook on 2016 tyres, I fell asleep half way into the 12 minute video.. you know something is bad if it takes that long to explain a tyre rule.

Anyway the video is here - http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/24...special-f1s-new-tyre-rules-for-2016-explained

And just found a graphic from reddit which explains it as well:

Although its easy to say 'just give them one tyre for the whole weekend' or whatever, it might give the teams more options and give us some more interesting results. I get the feeling after the teams get used to it though like after the last changes (didn't hear Vettel say 'the cliff' more than half the season iirc?) it will settle down to a set strategy.

Clear as mud?

@DRZ, agree with pretty much all that, the only issue is allowing too much freedom might end up with one or two teams being way out in front, good job & great for them but no good for fans. Think extreme versions of DDRS, F-duct etc.

I already posted it in another thread. Even you said things about it like "watch GP2" or something like that.

Just make sure you and moaner remember next time ;)
His back on ignore anyway :)

Why not just repost or point to it next time rather than being difficult, no one is going to keep tabs on your opinions :/

"Pirelli has confirmed that its 2016 Formula 1 tyres will feature a performance “cliff” similar to the type seen during the early years"

"thermal degradation tyres have often been criticised by drivers who cannot push to their maximum limits for fear of using all of the tyre’s life too early."
So true.

Still a long way to go. Roll on 2018.

Sounds good in theory, but it only took the teams half a season to work out the limits and just pit when they knew they would go off.
