F1 2023 - Pre Season Testing

Um.. If alpine are setting anywhere near representative times.. I won't bother watching this season!

Looks like alonso has finally made a good team change!

But not watch I mean I'll watch the 10 minute YouTube highlights. Still would want to keep up to date

It's just testing so worth noting that last year's pole was 1:30.558. Max's time was still over 2 seconds from it. So nobody's time is going to really be representative of true performance, that only comes first quali of the season.

As @Yaayuh! says, it's testing but i would be very surprised if Alpine end up being that far down the grid.

I'm just hoping McLaren can pull their socks up and get back into the top four.

Yeah it is. But they have (imo) 2 average drivers. So unless the car is good I'm not expecting a forwards step.

Even though its testing I'd have expected more. Apparently the car is a bit of a handful. I can't see as I'm listening to a feed off YouTube

Times don't mean a lot, but the car just looked poor. Big step back, I think.

Yeah, Aston are looking good so far. Also, Williams look like they've taken a big step forward.

Looks like all change behind the big three.

Yeah that's what I gathered. Car didn't look good.
If they are down in 15ish after it all shakes out.. Youtube highlights! :D

I've been getting more bored of f1 in general especially over last 3 years. I think when races went to highlights only was one hit. And knowing that team you support will. Likely never get up there has taken its toll.

Was a few races last year (for first time ever) I only watched YouTube rather than c4. Plus I don't know anyone in person who likes it now. Takes something again.

Think I only watch it out of habit if I'm honest.

Ooh just been reading about a change to uhd availability it may well be that only races are in uhd, no uhd on f1 channel.
Could be saying goodbye to sky

If memory serves me correctly, 4k and 4k HDR has only ever been available during quali and all of race day. I don't remember either being available during testing or any free practice sessions.
4k and HDR are selected via the red button.

Interesting, I would love for Aston and especially Williams to be more competitive.

every year its always fab to watch and try figure out whos leading/sandbagging, obviously no chance, the fuel load hides everything. though handling, the red bull looks the easiest to drive.

virtual safety car test ending in 9 days

Interesting discussion on the Sky testing live session about team pit walls - Haas saving $250k by not operating with a full pit wall operation this season.

Interesting talk about team pit walls - Haas saving $250k by not operating with a full pit wall operation this season.
Yesterday they initially said that it's saving $250k to ship the smaller pit wall around the world which would help against the cost cap, only to be reminded straight away that transport costs aren't part of the cost cap.

Looks like merc have made another dog of a car.
And Williams have made a car that'll finish second in the championship, going by the timings this morning. Is that your take?
