hi

i downloaded f1 off psn last night and i thought it was very much like the old ps2 f1 games perhaps with slightly better graphics, i was expecting a bit more from it on the ps3

do you think that f1 ce is using the ps3 full capabilities ?

hopefully if and when theres a new f1 game it will be a lot better

p.s sorry if theres a thread about f1 already, but i could not find it

cheers

I thought it was great, rain effects are superb on the game.

The demo gives you very little of what the actual game does imo. The career mode is great and the online is good too - I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed F1CE.

F1:CE is a great game.

Try turning off the drivers aid(s) if you want a challenge :D

Although, after qualifying 4th and pulling off a stunning win in Australia, my engine ALWAYS blows on the second race.. no matter how many times I've tried.. hax tbh.

it would have been better in 1080p...i was a bit disappointed with the graphics

So you have a 60inch plus tv do you? I think the difference between 720P and 1080P on anything below in questiontable.

What would have made a massive difference in the feel of the game is to have it run at 60 frames per second instead of 30frames per second.

That is what I found very disapointing. But it was a launch title and it was developed using a developers kit rather than the final product.. Still no excuse.. RR7 managed 60fps...

Viewing distance is also a factor, but IIRC for a 40 inch 1080p LCD the viewing distance must be smaller than 8 feet to notice a difference.

But there is another reason, if you have a 1080p LCD the game will look better running at 1080p as that is displyed in the native resolution of the LCD instead of sclaed up from 720p to 1080p

RR7 managed 60fps...
And 1080p

I only downloaded the demo but i wouldnt say the graphics are only slightly better they are ton's better than a PS2 f1 game .

This is true, I remember reading that there's more textures and polygons etc (can't remember how it was put exactly) in one car for F1CE than there was in the entire grid on PS2 versions.

I enjoyed it, was one of the first PS3 games so not surprising the graphics arent amazing, tho loved the rain and heat effects of the cars on the grid! Demo doesnt really do much for the full game.

I love the game. It's very addictive. Even more fun with no driving aids. Car tunings etc. Online is even harder with so many top guys.

If you think the AI is hard when set to hard of course, online is mental when you're in a room full of really fast guys.

The crashes and pile ups are nuts online as well, but the majority drive with collisions off. As sadly too many people ruin online with ramming each other off the track. Treating it like Nascar. Some people even deliberately took me out on Indianapolis causing me to spin out up the long straight because I was winning. So much for fair play. :(

Did you download the making video of F1 CE from the PSN store? he tells you whats all in the models etc. Quite amazing.

its one of those games that gets amazing screenshots, normally some kind of behind head water on the screen thing going but in reality it looks pretty pap.
