Codemasters has announced that a free-to-play F1 game is in development. F1 Online: The Game is a top-down racing game with what promises to be an in-depth management system, allowing you to play as both the driver and the team boss.
VP of Codemasters Online, David Solari says the game is "an exciting opportunity to bring our passion for the sport and our expertise in racing to a new audience. With a bespoke design for accessible browser play, F1 Online: The Game will deliver a persistent world of Formula One to players through their internet browser, perfect for anytime racing."
Players will able to take part in the Formula One World Championship and standalone Grand Prix events, as well as practice, qualifiers and a range of time trials.
Iconic tracks - from Monaco to Silverstone - will be realised using track data and assets from the forthcoming F1 2011.
F1 Online: The Game is set to launch in Q1 2012.
Sounds good to me!
Will look forward to 2012.
