F1 teams to joint launch their 2010 cars?

Sounds like a good idea to me, especially if they want to cut costs. Keep everything in one place, get the TV crews in etc. A nice warm up before testing

A great idea, all the press at one launch with most of the teams. A much better event. Finally some sense, rather than a Mclaren spice girls launch

Except that Virgin, Lotus, Campos and USF1 will probubly have to 'launch' with carboard cutouts of the cars to stand next too

Doesn't have to be a complete car they launch - could just be the chassis, suspension and bodywork and all the rest in mockup form. Seen more than one display car that when you lift the engine cover it's just blocks of wood and long screws.

How often does the car we see launched look like the one that appears at the first race?

Yeah, but isnt the launch going to be at the begining of the first lot of testing? If you dont ahve a car ready you have to go to Valencia, show off a mock up car, then come home. Its a good idea, just there are a few to many new teams this year.

Didn't work out in the end this year, but they will try and arrange it for 2011.

Hmm, thinking about it, I can see why any of the not so top teams wouldnt be so keen on it.

"We welcome the Press here, to the launch of the first Virgin F1 car!"

"Yeah yeah, whatever, now get out of the way, your blocking our view of Michael Schumacher"
