Is anyone going to this ?? I'm considering going, flights are cheap tickets are cheap, might even go for a guided tour one day for 70euro, to get a look in the pits.

I would basically be going to play around with my camera and get some upclose shots you can't get at the races.

Anyone been before? know wheres good to stay for testing??

ill prob go by myself for 3 nights or so.

Not this one, so soon after Jerez, but I'm eying up the last test in Barcelona instead.

What does the guided tour get you? In the paddock or just down the pit lane? If it is the latter then I'd be inclined to give it a miss. The teams tend to close up their garages during testing, or have a covered car inside them during the times you'd be able to access the pits.

The tour includes:
- Video of the Circuit
- Tour around the facilities: briefing room, podium, media centre, race direction, pit garage and paddock.
- Tour around the service tracks (around the racetrack).
The ticket includes watching the Formula One Test Days from: Main Grandstand, Grandstands F, N, G, H, and I, before and after the tour.
Circuit Access: Gate 3. Departure from the Circuit Shop.

im not sure really how far in it will get you??

Its not much more expensive to do the race. I looked at testing numerous times but decided against it. Did the Barcelona race last year and loved it.

id be going to get the photos though. more space more places you can get for less money..... I'm going to spa in the summer, and got myself some corporate hospitality lined up for silverstone. so this would be just to get some snaps, good snaps

If you get a grandstand ticket you get roaming access on Friday. You can get into any grandstand except the few corporate areas, and it wasn't that busy at all.

So many areas of barca are close to the stands anyway, that you don't need pit entry. I've been a stack of times before I even was that into photography and getting close to the cars isn't a problem at all.

I did the pitlane entry and it was pointless, they put a couple of old wings on trestles for people to see while everything else was well covered because of other teams spying on their wares. With a decent zoom everything I saw was easily accessible from the opposite grandstand.

Yep you can get a great shot into all the garages from the main grandstand.

Well... all except Alonsos, as I guarantee there will be a massive swarm of photographers there.

i thought about camping, but the flat we found last year is only 10mins from the circuit. Its in spa itself, just around the corner from the casino.

taxi is pretty simple, and theres a massage chair and 50in telly on the wall haha

Sounds like a nice trip Stinky :). I've got a couple of tickets for Silverstone in Club Corner stand but don't think I'll be able to go to any races overseas this year.

i use a company a lot that supplies quiet some major gear for the races at silverstone. Needless to say I'm after a corporate hospitality pass this year ;)
