F1 Testing 2012 - Week 2, Barcelona

Drivers are far to concerned with PR now to have strong feelings about each other. Sure they fall out and things, but nobody forms a genuine full on hatred for someone any more. They are all convinced to kiss and make up by their PR agents.

is it a fact that schumachers contract demanded he be the #1? or what is just ferrari policy to have a number #1 driver and schumachers contract stated he wouldnt be a #2 ?

how would informatin about his contract even be public?

but was it just rumours or ever confirmed?

It was in the press. That must mean its true, right?

Your the Schumacher expert, don't you have every article that mentioned it stored in a filing cabinet somewhere? Betweeen "Excuses for Mercedes not winning" and "Photos of Schumacher doing odd stuff"?

Quality piece of work that is.

Out of interest are there any limits to the engines the teams can use during these tests? Obviously they only have 8 during the season, but presume they must change them each night of the tests to ensure reliable running each day? This would make 12 engines or so, just before the season starts. Anyone got any info on this?

Nope, the williams and saubers are testing a compact v12 with a million bhp and caterham are testing out the engine for 2014 without the turbo, hence the lap times.... :p (sorry will stop with silly sandbagging themed jokes)

Anyway I'm pretty sure in the rules are no limits for engines in testing (should double check), but it's in the teams best interests to find out the limits of the engines now instead of the season (though nothing much has changed on that front for a while other than the engine maps).

So yeah I think it's free reign and they get their 8 units per car sorted for australia.

So his contract was he could not be no2, but not that he was no1? makes sense :D

Irvine had a no2 contract and he admitted that, Rubens was always a no2

LOL. I love how you are a walking talking Schumacher encyclopaedia right up until you get to something you don't like, and then suddenly you know nothing about it.

im just curious how people know it was schumacher demanding it and not ferraris win at all costs policy

Bernie is a **** at times, likes to talk **** to get a reaction.

Congrats Sparky, for playing to Bernie. The fact that you called him a "****" means that his plan (saying something controversial and getting a journalist to print it) has worked.

Way to go, helping Bernie like that!

:p:D

MSC Technical DNF's
Monaco - Fire
Hungary Gearbox
aswell as 3 collisions (we can say these are his own fault so discount them even if some arent i cant be bothered to argue about them)

Webbers Technical DNF's
0 Technical
1 "Accident" listed for italy, well say this is his own fault as it was :P

VETTEL
1 puncture

Rosberg
2 collision damage (we can assume these are his own fault and avoidable like we do for schumachers 3

Points difference
ROS/MSC 13 points (2 technical failures)
VET/WEB 134 (0 non finishes due to technical failures)

its fair to say schumacher couldnt have done much worse than webber imo

The magnitude in points difference is meaningless though, isn't it? Since the points values taper differences in performance are amplified when converting into points differences at the front of the grid, and the increasingly minimised as you move backward. Had Vettel and Webber been in the Team Lotus, the points difference would have been 0.
