No news on the McLaren issue (they appear to be well down on laps compared to a lot of other teams, so Im guessing the problem is major) :(

"We're looking into the problem that stopped Jenson out on-track this morning. Hopefully, we'll head out later this afternoon!"

From McLaren

Perez was on super softs, Alonso was on softs and Lewis was on hard tires for their fastest times so far.

From the BBC

"Ferrari engine is 75BHP down on the Mercedes engines. and that Ferrari were confused how Mercedes were able to run that much power and still be fuel effecient. BTW, 75BHP is 0.7 seconds in lap time- James Allen"

Typical Benson and his usual I'll just write down something over heard in the pit lane and call it fact.

The poster has quoted it to James Allen.

I call BS on that figure though. There is just no way they could reliably know. They can try and guess but there are just too many variables. Especially in a test session where some of the cars won't even be legal.

Cheers

Know what tyres JB was on for the above time?

I couldn't find any info sorry.
EDIT="Button was driving the unmarked experimental tires."

Maldonado improves with personal bests in all three sectors on his first flying lap :)
Maldonado's Lotus has stopped at the esses just after Turn 4. He's well off the track and out of the car. :(

Cheers for that deuse

How to make the time even more irrelevant - do a run on "unmarked - experimental tyres" lol

Hope McLaren get out again today, no one can really afford to lose the majority of a whole day at this late stage (no dig at RBR or anyone else intended)

How many will finish the Australia GP? Will time run out before they can do the laps?
Could Marussia finish in the top 10? I'm going to be a nervous wreck come race weekend :)

Renault Sport's Head of Track Operations, Rémi Taffin, speaks exclusively to Ted Kravitz, about the new engine for the 2014 season.

http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/f1/9188826/rémi-taffin-exclusive

My predicition is at 6/7 non finishers
3/4 Renaults engines
1/2 Ferrari engines
1 Merc (Lewis has a developed a bit of habit crashing his ;) )

But I will be watching it for sure, is it on BBC or do sky have exclusive rights for this one?

From Autosport
"Away from the track, the Formula One Teams' Association (FOTA) has announced it is no more:"

It was loss of drive for the McLaren. No one is saying if it was gearbox\engine ect.
