F1 Testing week 2 @ Jerez

What the hell is wrong with you guys. There is no Lotus black and Lotus green. Just Lotus and Renualt. You don't call the McLaren a Vodafone or the Mercedes Petronas.

If you are going by sponsors then you might as well call the Renualt a Larda since it's logo take up more car space.

Larda, like Lada, but fat :)

Judging by the number of photos of a McLaren locking its inside front wheel, I'm guessing they've gone for a very stiff suspension setup again.

Glad to see Maldonado is having a better day. After yesterday I thought he was going to be a horrid embarrassment.

shumies fastest so far :D

Woah! And pace from the Mercedes at last. Schumacher sets the fastest lap of the day, and comes within 0.7 seconds of Massa's pace of yesterday.

That's good to see.

I reckon some of the ones you took were good too tbh :)

Here's my stuff. Not really happy with the (green) Lotus ones, but included for the sake of completion. Never saw a Williams, and somehow never got a shot of a FI even though we did see them.

Nice shots, thanks for posting!

Mercedes looking a bit stronger with Schumacher in the car. (edit: beaten like a ginger stepchild)

Could just be that it's Lewis in the car. Very aggresive approach, especially in testing. Often goes too far, but I guess its all part of knowing where the limits are.

Sounds like it was on softs with a sniff of petrol in the car judging by the way his laptimes dropped off.

how is it more useful? it doesnt even tell you how many laps peopke have done

But it does give you a continuous commentary. And it's in English. And it updates faster. The no laps is a bit annoying, but it does update them in the commentary.

YMMV

while I appreciate he has the fastest time of the "week" so far, Schumi seems to have cronic drop off after the first full lap

Hoping JB can get into the low 1.20's to set a comparable time with the Ferrari and Merc

I know it's testing times and everything, but the consistency of the Ferraris pace over its longer runs is already looking a little ominous for everyone else. And this is with Massa driving.

what is the drop off for everyone else?

schumacher also did his first fastest time of the day on a 10lap stint where everyone else did them in a 6lap stint usually around the 2nd-4th lap.

nothing is conclusive yet other than the mercedes isnt the total crap heap the doomsayers keep claiming

It'll be very interesting if that profile of lap times is repeated into the race pace of tyres. Imagine the drivers coming flying out of the pits 2-4s a lap faster than when they came in but only for a couple of laps. That'd really muddle up the tactics.
