Perhaps BMW do listen after all? One thing I have learnt is, wait for LCI

New lights and bumpers (the latter probably not with Sport models, same as E60), new 550i engine, US to get 535d engine, revised steering which might solve some of the handling issues. Production in June/July 2013 available Aug/Sept 2013

New on the left, old on the right

When you get it so right first time the LCI only needs to tweak whats already there.

Unlikely I wouldn't imagine.

I'm hoping not much has changed as it'll be pre LCI for me

Yes you're right. I just expected a change of the magnitude of LCI on the E90 I suppose.

But the E90 pre LCI looked fairly crap so there were many improvements to be made. Whereas typically the 5 Series hasn't changed much at LCI - E39 and E60 were just lights, bumpers etc.

I didn't notice the line underneath and assumed it to be the other way around. Pre-LCI definitely nicer imo.

I do too. The new design is a bit "fussy" at the bottom.

I like the new lights and extra lines for a more aggressive look.

I prefer the older lower bumper but both are nice.

Looks quite a lot better to my eyes.

I know it's personal opinion, but the bottom of the new version looks much cleaner to me, certainly less going on.

I too prefer the pre but I do like the newer narrower headlights of the LCI. Graft he newer headlights to the pre and that would be ideal for me

They've also given the LCI an eyebrow with the extra crease line that runs into the nose which I don't like.
