***FA Cup Quarter Finals***

Well played by Newcastle overall I think. Shaun Wright-Philips managed to keep up Chelsea's cheating tradition.

I also thought it was sporting of Gudjohnson to give us a goal kick after we put it out close to Chelsea's box. Thanks.

Edit- Forgot to mention Del Horno being blown over by the wind? I guess? I'm not sure he just kinda dropped for no reason, poor lad. :(

chelseas diving is hideous.

im angered to be on the receiving end of it... being a newcastle fan.

personally i thought we were the better team overall... i dunno.. whats the point :p

SWP is wasted at chelsea.. poor lad.

we were much better defensively ... ramage.. and moore were great... maybe them at centre should be tried in the league....

i was pretty impressed with moore considering he has never play this season

I said to my mate in the pub when Chelski scored

"that'll be the end of that then"

I thought Newcastle may have had more of a go at them than that

LOL at Newcastle, they can't even beat that shower of ****:p*

I can see what you mean now mate, its really doing my head in!

Drogbarrrrrr!

Car-vally-oh is the one that annoys me.

What a dull game. I wish chelsea had got a second nice and early on so I wouldn't have had to waste my time watching the rest of it on the off chance Newcastle equalised.

I have no doubt in my mind that Vandle will blame Chelsea's pitch :)
Its hard to believe its the same pitch , it looks so different.

Crap , got what we deserved again - nowt.

Not a better chance to have a real go at them than tonight.
No cutting edge , no pace (other than Dyer) , static frontman who really should have packed in last year , Robbie Elliott who I think wants to do rude things with Drogba judging by how much he was touching him , weak fullbacks and generally sub standard players everywhere.

Positives?
Moorecelino looked ok , never put a foot wrong and compared to Boumsong and Bramble he looked like the offspring of a Baresi and Beckenbauer fornication.
Little Kenny Dyer looking fitter and quick as ever but still clueless when it comes to forward thinking play.
It was only one nil.
We wont be on telly for a while.
Thats about it really.

Such a frustrating match from a Newcastle point of view. The amount of possesion we gave away and the amount of hard work we threw away in the final quater of the pitch was just stupid. Topped off by a **** ref and a team who should be winning gold at the commonwealth games for their diving.

We looked far to casual all the way through, it's like they thought there was a second leg to play with or something.

I thought we defended well considering and the goal was unlucky because Solano got a foot in the way of Given. There goes Shearer's chances of siverware as a player, here's hoping he gets something in a managerial/coach role.

**** game to top off a **** season tbh.

Blaming the ref and cheating opposition although valid , is rather weak.

Organisation of the players , depth and ability of the squad is the main problem.
There is only one person to blame for what we see on the pitch and its not the chairman.

I wasn't blaming the result on those two issues just venting some annoyance in their general direction. :p

We did play badly as I said, throwing possesion away etc but the bad performance was made all the more frustrating by those other elements.

Hope we get to see some better performances next season.

Steven Carr was shocking tonight. I was a big fan of his when he was at Spurs. Was he completely fit?

I also thought it was strange that Emre didn't start. Newcastle lacked any sort of creativity with Bowyer and Parker in midfield. Playing Ameobi on the left was a strange decision as well.
