Fable 3 finally confirmed 19th May EU

Just watched the angryjoeshow video of the 32 reasons why Fable 3 sucks, obviously contains some over the top criticisms for comedy value I suppose but it still seems like one to avoid.

Can't link to it because it contains a couple of swearies.

The ad campaign with the slow mo of some cut scene footage and T-Rex made me want to buy it but I will resist.

Never watched this guy before either but the bit with the crates was pretty funny.

Well apparently its coming with all the content consoles has plus the DLC in it for free or somit and stuff from LE versions in it for free and i guess they patched in mouse and kb controls tho duno how good they will be as some ports have craply programmed controls for kb and mouse.

The PC version was originally meant to release alongside the Xbox 360 version back in October Microsoft delayed the game to make it better for the PC. Here are some changes made in the PC version detailed by Microsft: “Along with the same great content found in the Xbox 360 version, you also will be able to take advantage of the Limited Collector’s Edition2 in-game digital content that includes a new quest, region, outfit and dog breed. In addition, players can try their hand at the PC-only ?hardcore mode, which offers a higher level of difficulty.”

Let’s hope you PC gamers will enjoy the game as much as the xbox 360 players did.

Hmm wouldnt mind a savage pitbull or rockwhiler along with me if i play evil side of the game. :p But knowing game devs it will be a stupid friendly mutt like retreiver or somit.

Edit - My god, lookin at vids for the first time for fable 3 and its got the combat of darksiders almost when using the sword and the look of Pirates of the Caribbean lol. I guess its not like fable 1 where you start as a child and grow up as either good or evil. :(

So it took them half a year to add in content which was available at launch on the xBox 360 and tweak some values to make it harder.

*Is still really annoyed over the whole Fable PC debacle

It does have full Nvidia 3D Support which is the main reason behind the delay! (not that I care for 3D games/movies in any was shape or form its just not my cup of tea!!).

Why don't they start by releasing the previous version of the game, I understand that you dont need to have played the previous versions to pick up the 3rd but still.....its not the point.
Am I right in thinking this is also the worse Fable game out of the series?

I think this is a stupid release.

Nvidia 3D support is fairly easy to implement. The drivers do most of the work, and generally it's only UI and HUD elements that need to tweaked to work properly with it.

That's the same time as "The Witcher 2" isn't it. Well I'm not sure I'll buy either at release but might pick them up eventually, can't really see Fable III doing as big numbers as The Witcher deserves though.

I suspect with the PC date taking so dam long after the 360 release date they would have added something new and sorted lot of bugs. If not a lot of people are going to be very very annoyed.

They did not add much just Nvidia 3D Vision, mouse+kb controls, & a hardcore gamer difficulty which is about it apart from the usual PC config settings which make the game look much better.

Releasing same day as The Witcher 2 is commercial suicide though :eek:this will not do very well anyway but few will buy Witcher2 + Fable3 @ full price.

Spoler warning, just in case anyone cares.

Played this game through on Xbox when it came out, I have to say that as a fan of the Fable series I found it pretty poor. The morality choices were pretty much non-existant throughout the game until you get towards the end, where they all come in one massive hunk of 'be nice to your people and let them all die or save their miserable lives by ruling like a tyrant' choices.

Annoyingly, even that section is very poorly made - you get a bunch of decisions as a calendar counts down the days in twos and threes until hideous evil beseiges your kingdom, but once you get it down to half a year or so it just cuts out and skips to the end. There's me thinking I can be nice to all my folks and take the time to gather enough cash to save them before the looming evil guts the kingdom and it just skips half a year without any warning.

The combat was pretty dire - easier by far than any Fable game that's gone before it, and they're not particularly well-known for their challenging fights. On top of that, the largest number of game-breaking bugs occurred during combat - and there are plenty enough everywhere else. Granted, they've had half a year and more to patch the hell out of it, but somehow I don't see them bothering to fix everything for the PC version.

The main story quest seems to have had hefty chunks carved out of it with a DLC fillet knife - quite often I found myself trekking through miles of transition regions to get to a place with 10mins worth of questing before I had to go somewhere else. I'm sitting there thinking 'where the hell are all the sidequests?' and it shames me to recall that it took three occurrences of that thought before I realised they'd all been carved out to sell later as DLC. I doubt the PC version will include all those missing sections without having to pay extra for it.

All in all, a depressing return of that feeling you get when one of your favourite gaming franchises drops its trousers and bends over to present you with a place to stuff your money. A half-arsed game with the soul of a rock, massive potential gone to waste. Sold it after two days.
