Fable: The Lost Chapters - Any good?

Its not too bad at all, not amazing, and fable 2 was pretty much the game fable 1 wanted to be, but for a very british humoured fantasy romp, without amazing expectations you'll have a good bit of fun :)

I've just started playing it after finding it used for £2.99...
It seems quite good so far, still has reasonable graphics, music is decent and there's the typical Lionhead humour.

its not bad at all to be honest, the conversion onto the PC doesnt do too bad either... Fable 2 does rock :)

I enjoyed it. TBH I'm a bit of a sucker for anything RPG-ish so maybe I'm an easy audience, but I really liked the feel of the world it created. Combat got a bit repetitive after mid-game, but that's a criticism of many RPGs.

If you're generally an RPG fan it's one I'd recommend giving a go.

It's actually one of my all time faves is dear old FableTLC. Something about it I think the whole sort of 'charm' of the game really made me fall in love with it. Missions were fun to, although it wasnt without its niggles. My biggest complaint was the length of the game and the number of items. Still an absolute classic imo!

Didn't get on with Fable 1, but I'm loving the second one on the xbox. Like Alex said, it's the game Fable 1 wanted to be. And the humour is fantastic, such a rare thing to see it work so consistently in a game.

Far Prefer Fable to Fable 2.

1 just seemed more fluid and seemed to grab you a lot more, Fable 2 seems lacking something for me just not sure what.

To say it was one of the best games ever would be a bit of an exagerration to say the least imo. Like many Lionhead games it had some really unique and exciting ideas but also like many Lionhead games it didn't execute any of them to their full potential.

As a RPG it's pretty good, it's no Zelda or Final Fantasy but it's certainly way above average. In comparison to what was promised of the game, it misses by a mile.

personally, after playing fable 2 I tried fable, and thought fable 2 wasn't what fable wanted to be, i thought it was basically a rehash, completely.

Same everything, marginal changes, better graphics, ever so slightly slicker interface though not hugely. Same jokes, same story(more or less) same twists in the story, same damn place, same characters by and large with different names.

Playing them in reverse order made me believe Fable was mostly crap, dull and boring while would surely have simply been the opposite opinion if I'd played them in the right order, I'd just think the same about Fable 2 instead.

It really feels like they didn't bother with an ounce of creativity in the 2nd game, they just did the bare minimum to change it from the first game so it wouldn't actually be a flat out remake.

It's a trait of Peter Molyneux, i can picture board room meetings:

Peter: 'Right so we need these game mechanics: (insert endless ideas from a brainstorming session)'

Developer: 'Ok cool, we'll get as many done as we can'

Peter: 'Oh sorry, i assumed you could do them all, i made a press release promising every item on the list an hour ago'

Developer: '*sigh* I thought we discussed this with you after 'The Movies'? Right, we'll try our best'

*2 years pass*

Developer: 'Right pete, we've done em all. Some aren't that in depth but the basics are sorted, now what do we want for content?'

Peter: 'Game mechanics aren't content?'

Developer: '*sigh* we've told you this before Pete, you need game content for the game mechanics to function around'

Peter: '****, i told the publishers the game would be out next month. Right, we'll delay it for a month and then chuck in the content from the previous game'
