Facebook App - Post to Users Wall?

Any Facebook app developers here?

Is it possible or even allowed to post to a users wall from a Facebook app?

Essentially, I want the Facebook page app to post to the users wall when they have entered the competition via the app.

Yup, it's part of the API and the user is alerted accordingly (they're actually given the option of disabling that feature on a FB App).

Yeah, with extended permissions you can post straight to a users wall without having them to approve the specific post, using their feed. They have to allow the permissions first of course.

It's not best practice to automatically post to a uses wall without them actively knowing that you are doing the posting. I think it also might be against FB terms.

You can ask the user to post to their wall and give them
a quick and convinient way to do it i.e.:

"Thanks for your entry! Why not share your entry with your friends. Post to your wall, click here"

Automatic posting is very much a no no.
