Facebook friend requests?

I've just had my facebook account automatically accept someone as a friend without any request sent from myself or received from them.... what the hell is going on?

Has Facebook changed how friends are added nowadays? :eek:

I'm not sure what happens with friend requests these days.

I think you can hide them from the top left, not sure what access the requester automatically gets these days.

Are you sure it's a friend request and not a page? IIRC, you can add people to your pages, and they'll automatically receive updates from it.

I've had an email saying "blah blah confirmed you as a friend".... and they show on my friends list so they're definately added.

I definately didn't add or authorise them as haven't even logged into facebook for a week or so.

Does this not imply that you added them and they have now accepted your friend request?

That's irrelevant, as you could have made the request months or years ago and they could have ignored it until now.
