Facebook Messenger acting weird

Is anyone else having issues with FB Messenger?

Firstly I was unable to view any messages, due to some new End to End encryption thing. A friend said this was because a pin was required, which it wasn't asking me for. I found where to create a pin, and now I have to enter it every time I use FB on my PC. Messages on the PC version either don't send, or I'm not receiving them. I thought a couple of people were being a bit slow replying - it wasn't till I checked the messenger app on my phone that I noticed they had replied - the messages just aren't coming through on the desktop chat.

Any idea what the heck is going on? I'm not a big Facebook user, but I use messenger a lot for work, and keeping in touch with folk etc.

Yeah it has been a bit weird for me recently too, and I've made a Pin too - like it's started showing me messages in the main 'inbox' view in the app but then when you go into each thread the message isn't there and doesn't come through for ages. Also had to restart it a few times after it just kept hanging on a blank background when I tried to load a chat.

The app's been a bit rubbish for a while though.

Not tried using it from the desktop website since choosing a Pin.
