Hi

new to facebook and forgotten all the cookies info i've ever read as its never bothered me to be honest

but after getting facebook to email me a password it displayed :-

"You can change your password immediately because you are logged into your email account on this browser."

how does it know this ?

bit concerned re: privacy and can one tab in my firefox access another tab browsing session or is it ?

any info on this appreciated

Yep it's cookie. Also if you had one care about privacy then you wouldn't use facebook. If a website has a facebook button, it knows you visited it and at what time.

yhack - cheers mate !

RomanNose - the facebook is only for a specific thign i need it for , i'm not a fan to be honest

Q) So can facebook read a hotmail cookie ?

do i need to revise cookies - i think i'm 10 yrs out of date on the topic

No it can't, other websites can't read other website cookies. Only their own.
