facing down or forward

I have ordered a Xigmatek Dark knight, but am unsure about fitting, it is going on a socket 775.

i looked on the net and my confusion is because i have seen some fitted so the fan faces downwards, and some so the fan faces forwards, anyone know which is correct or can it be either?

with push pins you can face either. on AM2/AM3 they only can point up/down.

no push pins, the xigmatek dark night is a screw fit

i think i will mount it forward facing then like the existing heatsink, that way it will suck air in, and the 2 rear exhaust fans will blow the air out
