I sold my 7900 a month or two ago in hope of getting an 8800gt

Now the new gts has come into play I have a few questions
I realise that these replies will be opinion but if anybody has a bit of knowledge to bring to the table for me then I would be very thankful.

My intention was to get a factory overclocked GT
Would it be wiser to invest £20 more and get a new GTS or even £40 more and get a GTX?

My monitor supports 1680X1050
Would I see any real performance increase getting a gtx over a gts?
Or would a factory overclocked GT offer similar performance for less money?

I realise that in many cases the performance increase will be negligible, but I only tend to upgrade graphics every xmas so it needs to see me through another year

Sorry if this is a repeat thread or it has been asked before whatever

Go with the cheapest GTS you can find, the GT would do the job just fine but you may as well go for the latest and greatest for a measly £20 difference, GTS has better cooling as well.

i heard the gt had sloppy cooling etc
but reports seemed mixed

i dont think i would get the benefit out of the gtx
thats why i didnt get one sooner

ati havent really done anything to sway me that way either

i will go for the gts stock if i can.

i know its early days but none of them seem to be oc'd - apart from the bfg which seems a little expensive considering the tiny increase in speed.

how well do these overclock?

if you've waited a month you can wait a bit longer, at the moment prices are overinflated due to demand.

IIRC rrps are £150 gt

and 190-200 gts

you try waiting a month on onboard graphics! lol

i know the proces will drop
but the gt prices seem to be stable... and they have been out for long enough to be replaced by a new 'best bang for buck' gpu without getting a price drop.

any news on when the manufacturers are going to start meeting demand?
