I've just noticed all my folders and stuff have been installed to program files (x86) .

seriously if it's a 64bit os you'd expect everything to be stored in the correct folder!

didn't have this issue with the Release Client!

x86 is the 32bit os folder and your standard folder is for your 64bit based programs, by default windows has stuck everything in the wrong folders

That's where its supposed to be installed!

This is normal behaviour. If you like, you can change the folder you install things to in most setup programs. True 64-bit software, and typically preinstalled windows software resides in program files.

that's not right.

you're saying that 64bit software (such as steam) should be installed in the x86 folder?

Steam is a 32bit program.

And vista64 did this also, I don't understand where you are getting at regarding the RC. I don't see anything abnormal about x64 programs going automatically to program files, and x32 programs going automatically to program files (x86), it's just always been that way on 64bit windows :o

how am I not making sense, give me some credit, I know where files should go.

What I am saying is that windows has stuck all my 64bit programs in the 32bit (x86) folder, and vice versa

Is that normal behaviour? :o :o :o

Which 64-bit programs?

You most likely had the option to choose where they were installed, why not change it then?

And yes, it is, and always has been, normal behaviour.

Can you name these programs then? Steam, like I said, is not 64 bit. If you are making the same mistake with the rest of them then the problem is obvious.

Can't quite tell if you are trolling or not, so I won't be replying again, good luck :)

Steam isn't 64bit

I can't see what you're getting at here.

Install 64bit 7-zip and see where that goes
