It's looking likely that I will be able to run the SMP client in Ubuntu on 'a few' ;) PCs for 24 hours a day for around 2 weeks starting from the 9th or 10th of July.

If I get organised I can get them installed in an air-conditioned classroom. They are new PCs coming to the school and I don't need to do the proper 'official' install on them until later in the Summer Holidays. Normally I don't like to overly use the school's electricity and generate unneccesary heat in the classrooms so it's just a one off as it will be holiday time. The PPD should be fairly insane. :D

Almost forgot to say, the PCs will be E6320's (not overclocked) with 1Gb RAM each.
 
I'm sure verbal mentioned it in another post, just over 20 I think, the extra cache should really help, and maybe a slight 2.0 over clock ;)

800ppd per box - 16k ppd :D

Edit: if verbal's other E6320 is getting 1350ppd@stock - that's 27k ppd :eek:

I think even Team ms9cw will be hard pushed to match that sort of output, but at least it's only over the summer holidays. We'll get you eventually, verbal! ;) :D

nice work if you can get it!

got my dad's Pentium 4 running 24/7 for the next 7 weeks whilst he's on holiday.

It does take about 3 days for some of the WU's in winSMP but all points help on my climb up the board!!

Heh, i didn't mention it in another thread. I'll give you a clue though. It's definately less than 20 but definately more than 5.

You will pass me in less than 1.3 weeks and be well ahead of me by July the 10th (over a month). Hopefully I will leap up behind you and give you both a scare during July but I doubt it will be enough to re-pass you. Fold on!
 
Hmm.. I am trying to work out if you will overtake me in that time or not... Hopefully not! Getting bored of being stomped by these new people!

Sounds like a nice idea as i've just started folding for OCUK.

I'm a technician at a school and have 90 brand new X2 machines that will be unused over the summer hols.

Could be interesting. ;)

Well I've only been folding for ocuk for a year and a month but still not new by this teams standards. I'm twenty places behind you and i'm not cheating* like you!

*cos we all know SMP is cheating right? ;)

I'll have to retract that statment now :D

Plus I have permission to keep the aircon running in the classroom I have chosen :cool:

I'll get some pics of the setup at various stages and I'm even considering making a little sub-domain on the network for the crunchers, controlled by a P3 1ghz flex-atx system i've been tinkering with.
