FahMon 2.3.0

I think I broke it...

FahMon 2.3.0 says my client has hung. Previous version says everything is fine...

Tried reloading, changing "Ignore asynchronus clocks" setting, removing client and adding it back... It's not playing ball!

Gonnna try recompiling/installing!

EDIT: nope didn't work. The AMD64 .deb package doesn't seem to work either... running "fahmon" in the terminal after installing says the command no exist.

EDIT 2: Completely nuked all trace of FahMon then recompiled from scratch. Is working now... but will it fall over again I wonder........

Great :o

Is the "hung" client local or remote? And, have you got the manual timezone setting turned on?

Not quite sure how I've managed to break the deb file, hey ho. In theory, FahMon should have been installed to /usr/share/bin/

Sorry :D

The client is local and manual timezone is not on.

I will try the .deb install again tomorrow when I am rested. I could have done something daft.

OK, guinea pigs wanted:

FahMon 2.3.1-OcUK.dev1 (windows only)
http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~as239/fahmon_unofficial_builds/fahmon-231-dev1.rar

There's a new tab on the preferences dialog called "WebApp", it will allow you to activate the web output code I've just added.
I wouldn't recommend activating more than one output type at once as I don't know what the performance impact is yet.
Also, the "Simple text" output won't work yet, it just outputs the "Simple web" data to a text file.

The web pages are updated by FahMon whenever its "autoreload" is triggered (every 10 seconds if you have got experimental reload turned on), however the web page itself will auto refresh every 100 seconds.
The WebApp version (the nice fancy graphics one) will tell you the time of the last update, whereas the simple web one won't (its simple after all).
For the WebApp version, you need to copy the images from the image folder into the folder where you told fahmon to save the WebApp page.

Ignore the fact that the html isn't perfectly valid, I just need to know about functional/graphical bugs.

The WebApp code appears to look OK in Firefox, IE6 and Konqueror. It should also work in Safari and Opera.

Edit: If you could make FahMon output to a public page (if you're using dyndns etc.) that we can all see, that would be nice too!

Works fantastic!

Pretty version:
http://www.3dgfx.net/fahmon

Simple version:
http://www.3dgfx.net/fahmon/simple

This is awesome! Thanks!

Just fyi, I have both versions ticked and the hit is 2 or 3 seconds pause in the program. I'll track memory useage. (Currently 8.5M with three clients)

If it doesn't seem up to date when you view it its because its running on my Vista64 machine and the USB wireless seems to disable itself every now and then :) But that would normally be during work hours. So should be fine if you want to check it out tonight.

Thats OK, I've just had a look. Is it just me, or is the fancy one not display all the data that it should. If I click on the 2nd and third clients, lots of N/As appear in the WU info panel.
The first client works fine though.

I can't see any problems with the simple web version.

You are right, I tried "download new projects" on Fahmon but it didn't update the fancy version. Only the first one shows the detail. But in FAHmon itself it shows all three.

OK. Let it refresh itself a couple of times (for some reason the first update sometimes doesn't work properly, and if it hasn't updated since you downloaded the project list again it will still be wrong.)

If this doesn't work, I'll check the error handling code again, since it works on my machine, and appears to work on the simple version.

no access to a windows folder untill monday - I'll tell you if it's ss proof then ;)

Edit: actually I don't think I will - I'll be stupid busy next week

OK I'm gonna try and turn off simple mode, shut down the exe and restart it see if its because I am (against your reccomendation) running both fancy and simple mode.

That didn't work. After restart the first two showed, but the third was still off.

So, I just turned experimental reload on and, "calculate PPD based on effective rate" and all three showed up!

Ah, I must have slightly broken something for the fancy web update code then.

Think its definitely the experimental reload, so currently I have:

Use Experimental reload system - On
Calculate PPD based on - All frames
Export Web application - ticked
Export Simple Web page - ticked

And its all working fine

Ok, that's good. I'll work out what I've done wrong, but at least it works correctly with the right settings.

PS. Gemini seems to have got a -ve value for the download time.

Hmm when trying from externally all I get is part finished raw html. Like its building the page too often and not getting a chance to finish.

They're both looking fine for me at the moment in FF - though on one attempt to view the fancy one yesterday it did just appear as a load of nonsense until I refreshed it, might have caught it in the middle of an update as a fluke.
