So er.. I just got the Skoda back from the dealer. The windscreen jets had packed up.

I had a chat with the mechanic who had the job of replacing the washer pump. The problem?

I managed to fill this

That's a bit embarassing. :o

So please, go ahead - I deserve both barrels for stupidly costing myself £50 and the use of the car for two days.

And what are all your car "FAIL" moments?

And to make it worse, it's not even my car.

You try telling your girlfriend's Dad how you totally failed with something so simple.

My Mum had a right laugh about it when I told her as well. :o

Just lets get this straight here a minute !!!
You borrowed your Girl friends Dads car & put anti freeze in the washer bottle & then posted it on a Public forum that is Notorious for it's stretchable sense of humour.

There is so much Fail in this thread it reaches the Black hole of Fail & then reverts into Quality, You Sir Win when it comes to Fail. :D

Well seeing as most of her family and my family know (thanks to the wonders of phones :o) and i've heard nothing but jokes and ribbings about it for the last two days, I thought I may as well post on here about it.

I'm confused how antifreeze would kill a pump.
After all it's basically no different to concentrated screen wash.

I didn't ask at the time. I did assume that windscreen wash contains some anti-freeze but not pure concentrate, which is what trashed the pump?

Either way, he told me that was the problem, and when I thought back I remember being in a hurry when I filled it, grabbing a blue bottle and pouring.

When I went to look again the other day, my screenwash was sat on it's shelf next to a bottle of... anti-freeze. :o
