Failed 8800GTX flash - can it be fixed?

I mate has tried to flash his GTX to the latest firmware (didn't even know there was different firmware for it??) but the power cut out when he did it.
Now the card is dead and on boot up - the screen remains black and the GPU cooler's fans spin, nothing else.

Can this be fixed - or permanently FUBAR card?

may be able to use a second gfx card to boot up with and then re-attempt the flash.
like a pci gfx card

This wouldn't have anything to do with a GTX going for tiny amounts of money on a certain auction house, that has had a bad flash and won't display anything...?

Use a old PCI Graphics Card to flash it or Blind Flash it if you do not have a 2nd GPU.

You will still need another PC to grab files and make the Autobat on floppy/CD.

So in theory - if I have a the PC on remote desktop, I can still flash it?

Not clue, I mean you can flash a borked GPU using a old PCI card to let you see a DOS screen to type commands to run the floppy/cd you make to flash GPU bios or even do it blindly by booting to a
Floppy/CD and running a Autobat and pressing Y (for yes) after like 20secs and it will flash your GPU.

Obv you may have bios set to boot from HDD 1st but you could reset CMOS to get it back to Floppy/CD as you cant see screen to do anything anyhow.

No chance I'm buying ot now - there must be someone else very confident they can fix it!

please remember:

if the card is sold not working:
if its not jsut the bios you have no leg to stand on.
if the cards been under LN2 and 4V core and is cooked (and this fried the bios) you have NO ABILITY TO COMPLAIN

sold as broken, if it works grats.. if not - dont complain

by the way - yes, you can fix borked gfx bios using another card for output and flashing the broken card. in this day of SLI - just stick the dead card in slave slot....
