well basically i wanted to get my Phenom II x4 965 to 3.8ghz but the closest i got to it was 3.7 on 1.475v at a temp of 45 on stress test but my second core kept failing the test so i lowered everythin but i still got the error.

Now im running everythin at stock again and my 2nd core has failed again but with a different message this time and im worried....

Interesting. It's rare for processors to die. Overclocking at very high voltage will decrease achievable overclock, but 1.45V wouldn't. Either some of the other settings were on "auto" and went really mental, or your ram or motherboard is dying on you.

I think it's the ram, for now at least. What does memtest show?

Firstly check the obvious..

RAM is set to the manufactures voltage and running at its correct frequency and timings, or to 1333mhz and standard timings if it is 'stock' is faster..

Next set everything else to auto

Run Linx with 512mb RAM for 5 passes.. if its a CPU issue that's causing the instability in Prime that quickly this will pick it up straight away. If this passes then its more than likely a RAM / NB problem
