How to turn a comfortable pass into a fail in one easy move!

Got confused by the lane markings on a 3 lane roundabout and ended up drifting out too far for the examiner's comfort (And mine for that matter!) and really unfortunatley there was someone there which makes it a serious error :(.

Other than that everything was fine, 6 minors.

Better you make that kind of mistake now than after you pass your test with a few minors first go and think you're an amazing driver :)

Least you realise you're not superhuman and I bet it'll make you 10x a more observant driver.

Totally, real shame you didn't pass but just take it as another lesson, learn from it, and when you do pass you'll have more experience under your belt :)

It is a lesson learned, but not really observation. I think i should have waited at the roundabout and sussed out where i'd got to go before i moved off rather than going, worrying afterwards and getting it wrong. A very expensive silly mistake.

I think i might have got away with it as a minor had there not been someone there who had to slow down, but i don't know.

Hopefully i can get a cancellation before my next booking which is 22nd august.

God I used to hate roundabouts when I was a learner driver, could never make my mind up wheter to go or not, was never sure i was in the right position. Funny when I look back on it, now I never give them a second thought.

Well when I say I never give them a second thought obviously at some level I do but...

I'll shut up now, I'm waffling.

Might not be of much comfort to you but IMO thats the best way to fail. A good drive overall but one un-characteristic mistake messes it up for you.

By the sound of it your driving is up to standard so get another test booked ASAP and get back on it :)

I'm getting used to the 3 & 4 lane roundabouts after driving for 7 months (especially after turnoffs at motorways). They seem to confuse the hell out of most people tbh. It doesn't help that quite often the road markings are wearing away and are less easy to see :p

They should definitely put more emphasis on these kind of situations in lessons and theory.

I know the feeling mate! It took me way too many times to pass my test, past it begging of this month with 5 errors :) Should really have past on my first attempt though :o

Just a question to anyone else who has past recently.. Do I send in my pass certificate in with my actual driving lisence and counterpart? or by its self!?
Any idea how long it takes too?

bad luck mate

you should read up about roundabouts... lots of people dont kow how to use em properly... but once you understand the concept you will be fine on everyone!

mind you there are some real odd ones out there.. so make sure you know all your local ones :)

good luck for your future test

That North Circular roundabout on the A10 by Palmer's Green is a sod to turn right at... It's on the Wood Green test route if you're unlucky too...

Eh? I passed in March and soon as I passed while in the car, he handed me an A4 paper pass certificate and took the Learner card and counterpart off me to sent to the DVLA. About 2 weeks later I got the pink one in the post, didn't do any form filling whatsoever.

OP - Good luck next time, it took me 3 tries, and I wasn't ready the first time looking back now.

You have to send that blue pass certificate off within 2 years, otherwise your lisence gets revoked? So I herd :s.. just not sure what to send it off with..

EDIT: Never mind just got this email a while ago :)

Thank you for your email.
