I keep getting (every few days) failed overclocks as soon as the system is turned on. Initially I just get a black screen. Then if I reboot it comes up with red writing telling me the overclock failed. It takes an age to get in to the bios from this screen so I normally hard reset again and go straight to the bios to make sure all the settings are in order and then the system boots in to windows just fine.
The system in windows is stable as a rock. It has passed 8 hour tests at 3.4ghz and 3.5ghz and a 24 hour test at 3.3ghz (which I run it at now as it seems best for the RAM and I don't need it any faster).
Temps are always good. Even at 3.5ghz it wasnt hitting 60c on 100% load in the tests.
So this morning it's done it again but this time Vista has been corrupted and I will need to try a repair when I get home.
Any thoughts on where the problem lies?
The shell of the system is:
E5200
MSI P31 Neo-F V2 Intel P31 PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
