After finding something rare for my friend’s autistic son on eBay in US, I sent a PayPal payment to seller which failed and taken from bank account. She sent me details to pay on WesternUnion. The payment was received and then cancelled by WU. Again the payment was taken by my bank - Santander.

I need the money back as cash flow issues as got a bill and two direct debits. How long will these refunds take? Do I need to contact PP, WU or my bank?

The payment has gone through. About £250 out of pocket

Never sent money abroad through PP or WU. I have a lot of stress going on with my life at the moment - work, health and my grandmother. My head's not in the right place. I just want my money back. Santander is taking the p with call times to the fraud team.

With eBay you never send money, you use the purchase option.

Sorry to hear about your problems, but if life is hectic focus on yourself, not others.

(You mentioned you bought it for a friend's autistic son)
How is his mum going to explain he’s not going to get this item? He doesn’t understand money, fraud etc

Crude question...Are you trying to bang the mum? I've never spent £250 on any of my friends or their kids
Seller messaged me to say payment not gone through on PayPal. Tried again - not gone through her end. Then one WU. Two more payments came out fraudulently from PP.

Five payments of roughly £50 each. The toy retails at £135.

I have Apple Pay which I hardly use. Santander updated my AP with the new card immediately, so can use it. A very useful thing.

Just need to wait for the new card to do online payments - Amazon, Healthspan etc. As need the CVV (3 numbers on signature strip)

and this is why banks give sod all interest because instead it's used to cover the costs of "fools and their money who are easily parted"
I only did three payments myself and two were fraudulent. One was made at 3:15am (when I was asleep) made in Laos Kip. I didn’t know the currency of Laos until yesterday.
