Wondering if any one has any ideas how I can get rid of this message.

The story is, I had a perfectly functioning pc running Win 7 home premium x64.

I recently installed an ssd in to it and reformated. Everything was fine.

No errors. I apply all windows update reboot.

Upon reboot, I know get a message saying "failed to connect to group policy client service"

I tried reformating again, and the exact same thing happens so its a windows update causing the issue.

What doesnt make sense is that nothing has changed, same hardware (other than ssd) and same windows updates... so why this error.

Any ideas?

I have just checked on my other computer and the group policy client service is turned on by default.

Now I know it's a windows update turning it off, becuase it works fine before I applied updates.

Question is does any one know a way to turn it back on?

I have tried admin, hidden admin, cmd line, no joy.

Do you think a windows repair could potentially solve my issue? (It's a fresh install of windows tho, probs only began afer windows updates.)
