Failed win 7 upgrade?

How do you mean failed? I had to look at a friends laptop when his Win7 install screwed up, and it was a mess, so I wouldn't have thought you'd be able to revert back to your previous install.
Making a disc image with something like Acronis True Image would allow you to do this.

the question is, why would you want to?
I haven't done it. One of my sister's employees has and completely messed up the machine and presumably lost all of the previous data on it sigh! I haven't had the chance to check the damage yet.
That was the scenario I had, the data should be on there though - the installer moves it into a new folder. Can't remember where it moved it though!

Check for a folder called "Win Old" in the root of the C drive. This only happens if the OS was installed as an upgrade.
