As title says really - When I run Prime95 with the rig in my sig it fails after only a minute or so, but the CPU never really gets over 60-62 degrees in that time. I'm sure there is more headroom with my chip, and since I can't figure out how to unlock the 1:1 FSB:DRAM ratio on this new motherboard I've bought, I really want to get as high as an overclock as possible. Do you gurus think I should up my voltages a bit?

My only previous overclocking was with this same chip, but my old motherboard could only get up to 305FSB, so I wasn't exactly "pushing the limit."

Failing prime usually means you're not giving enough fuel (volts) to the chip. So yes up your vcore a bit. However... 60-62 degrees is in the upper limits of what it can withstand.

yeh increase the voltage, just make sure the temps aint too high. anything under 1.5v is usually okay i think, unless the chip is running over 70c

Ok - I'm running it now with 1.375 and it seems to be going along good. Coretemp is up to 63-65 degrees and I don't really fancy letting it get any hotter under load. Since my PC2-6400 is running at only 680Mhz it's time to tighten the timing way down. On the old setup I had it running 3-3-3-9-1T @ 610Mhz, hopefully I can get something similar to that at 680Mhz.

Cheers for the help guys.
