I built my own system 3 years ago and it has worked fine until recently. It is Windows 10 and if I put the system to 'sleep' it starts up and works perfectly. If I shut it down I have problems getting it to start.
I have read all the information contained in the thread that talks about boot problems but I cannot find something that relates to this issue.
I know that my PSU is far in excess of the power than I need for my system and cannot see that it is under powered. If I sit at the computer and hold down the power button for between 5 and 10 minutes it will eventually switch on.
I have checked all connections for signs of damage etc and removed and then connected them all again.
Once working the computer works fine.
I cannot always leave the computer in 'sleep mode' as I am reluctant to do so when away from home for a couple of weeks so I have to shut it down and know that I will face this power up problem upon my return.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
