I have the above monitor for 2 years and a few months ( just outside the 2 years warranty :()
I have recently noted faint black horizontal lines , more accentuated on the monitor left side of the screen visible on the white background especially.

The lines are not visible in games unless the action is stopped and I especially look for them on a light background. Also the lines are present regardless of input / or graphic card ( I have a 3070fe and MSI 3080- lines are present with both cards)
Other than that it was an almost perfect screen, no dead pixels and very low light bleed, colours are still ok...

Any ideas what could be the case and if it can be repaired? the monitor is out or warranty now so I will have to pay for repair , I am not sure if it is worth to send it back to LG?

Thank you

thanks EsaT , I noticed the lines are more obvious at lower resolution - at 60 it looks as if someone draw on the screen with a black pen , at 144, they are faintly visible

Further heads up regarding buying a monitor from LG.

Mine is just over 2 years so out of warranty but still, it cost me >1100 new so I thought why not call them for an out of warranty repair.

Well I have been informed that they do not do this now, they have a lot of warranty repairs they have to honour (says something about LG products ) and at the moment they do not accept out of warranty orders, may change in the future though but can not say when.

I am very disappointed, first because the monitor broke down in just 2 and a few months years, secondly, their care for their customers after the warranty wears off. I am expecting a monitor to last longer than 2 years, I know some posters here are changing monitors way more often. I have an Ultrawide Samsung monitor, one of the first appeared 5-6 years ago bought from OC'ers still going strong with the screen as new (VA panel 3440*1440, 60 Hz ) and a Dell for 10 years without a glitch.

I am looking for independent repairs/engineers around Manchester but my google skills are not good enough. Does anyone have any idea?

Update of the monitor saga

I called LG again, 4 weeks later since the first call and this time I spoke with a very helpful representative. He confirmed they moved the repair centre to a new location and they are ok to take post-warranty repairs.

I did explain the monitor issue and the guy suspected it to be something with the motherboard of the monitor rather than the screen itself. To repair the monitor I had to pay £170 upfront (parts/labour and transport to and from the centre included, they would also arrange packing up the screen). Once they had the monitor and the problems was something else they would call me and discuss the price, If I would be not happy to pay the monitor would be returned and I would have to be refunded

The offer was too tempting not to agree with it, they collected the monitor Tuesday, informed me the monitor was received on Thursday and Friday another text from them saying the monitor will be returned Monday. No other communication, no further request of any payment

To my pleasant surprise, the monitor has been repaired, returned from the service in excellent condition, with no scratches, etc.

So all in all, not a bad service, under 1 week turn away, with the issue repaired at a very acceptable price

Well done LG
